“Sail the highest quality club boats on Boston Harbor, hassle free, and for a fraction of the cost of ownership!”

Black Rock Sailing School, Boston has the youngest and best maintained fleet in Boston Harbor. Our two membership programs are designed to cover a wide range of budgets and needs, while sustaining the highest standards in Boston Harbor and beyond.

No other sailing program in New England retires their fleet after five years of service. You will be proud and confident when you sail aboard our boats since our fleet is new, our boats are loaded with safety features, and everything will work as designed. You simply can not compare the quality of our fleet and service to other local sailing clubs, and our pricing is extremely competitive.

Other local programs use boats that are at least twenty years old! Years of wear and tear lead to more breakdowns, the boats show their age, and most of the older designs truly lack comfort and safety.

We only accept new designs that are modern, fast, and fun - yet safe, extremely comfortable, and impossible to capsize. Our fleet ranges from 20ft. day sailors to 38ft. ocean cruising yachts.

Membership not only gets you access to the nicest club boats in Boston, but you can partake in various social events and sailing clinics and receive discounts on our sailing courses!

BLACK ROCK SAILING CLUB, BOSTON, MASSACHUSETTS

Our sailing club provides members with guaranteed sailing time each month aboard the best quality sailing boats that any school offers in the Boston area. Anyone with ASA or US Sailing Basic Keelboat certification can join. Higher levels of certification expand your sailing range.  Members are able to explore Boston Harbor, Dorchester Bay, Hingham Bay, and the outer Boston Harbor Islands.

Clients new to our program will need to pass a skill assessment and complete a boat orientation/club policy session. If you learn to sail in Boston with Black Rock Sailing School, our graduates simply need to complete the club policy session before using their free trial to practice what they have learned!

Our club is the perfect transition between learning to sail and taking on the responsibility and cost of owning a boat of your own, and is the ideal solution to your busy schedule.  Join our program, for less than it costs a boat owner to store the boat for the winter!

When you join, you split the cost of boating with up to six other families; leaving all of the planning and maintenance worries to us. This enables you to sail a boat that could be more expensive than you might want to own alone, AND allows you to focus your limited free time on what is fun - sailing. Members can invite friends and family along!

WHY CHOOSE BLACK ROCK SAILING CLUB, BOSTON:

  • We do not use twenty+ year old boats in our program. All of our boats are new since they are retired after five years of service!
  • We do not take short cuts on maintenance.  All of our boats literally look new!
  • We do not make you paddle!  ALL of our boats are equipped with a new outboard engine or electric motor.

At Black Rock Sailing Club, we understand that trying to paddle a keelboat against wind and current is useless and simply dangerous in Boston Harbor when the wind dies and you are struggling to avoid large commercial ship traffic.

On our boats, you can be self sufficient and effortlessly get home or out of harms way.  Most other schools do not have auxiliary power because of cost and the fact that that would require their sailing instructors to qualify for a US Coast Guard Captain’s License.

  • We do not leave our members stranded!  All of our boats are equipped with VHF radio communication so that weather forecasts and assistance are only a call away.
  • We do not charge our members for having guests aboard. Members can invite friends and family aboard for free.
  • Our staff is there for your every need.
  • Easy access.  Our boats are at a dock and you simply step aboard.
