WELCOME

As a student at Black Rock Sailing School, you will receive world class sailing instruction on the best training boats available.  Our program is purposefully small, allowing us to focus on a few students at a time, providing unprecedented support before, during, and after their graduation. Internationally recognized sailing certifications are available upon course completion for American Sailing Association’s Basic Sailing, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Charter, and Coastal Navigation courses.

Our team consists of true sailing professionals. Each has been carefully selected to ensure that they have the personality, experience, and ability to pass along their knowledge in a safe and relaxed manner.  All of our sailing instructors are American Sailing Association Certified, USCG licensed captains, and have years of teaching experience.  You can rest assured that you will have a lot of fun while being in very capable hands.

At BRSS, you will also be proud to sail aboard our boats. During our courses, students spend a majority of their time out on the water, so we insist on teaching aboard the best sailboat designs which provide an ideal combination of safety, stability, comfort, performance, and speed.   We have the youngest, most reliable fleet of any major sailing school in Massachusetts; upgrading our fleet after just five years of service.  Not only is our instruction up to date - our boats are too! Daysailing, Basic Keelboat, Basic Coastal Cruising, Bareboat Charter, Coastal Navigation, and Racing Techniques – we do it all!

We specialize in training our students at the highest level; whether they dream of bareboat chartering a yacht in exotic locations around the world, or wish to simply explore their local cruising grounds.  We are located at the Shipyard Quarters Marina in Boston, Massachusetts, just minutes away from major highways, and in the heart of the Boston Harbor sailing scene.  Entry level classes are taught within the protected waters of Boston Harbor and Hingham Bay, while our more advanced live-aboard courses will take you to distant ports within Massachusetts Bay, Boston’s famed North Shore, and beyond.  Check out our website or give us a call.
