ASA 104 - BAREBOAT CHARTER CERTIFICATION

“Set sail anywhere in the world!”

This advanced sailing course provides the skills needed to charter a boat anywhere in the world. After completing our three day/two overnight ASA Bareboat Chartering course, you will earn ASA Bareboat Chartering Certification. This course will provide you with a more advanced knowledge base, teaching you the essential skills you’ll need to safely command a boat up to 50ft on your own, along the coastal waters of New England, the Caribbean, and beyond.

Topics cover preparation, voyage planning, basic first aid afloat, crossing international borders, galley/head systems, advanced sail theory, heavy weather sailing maneuvers, crew positions & responsibilities, advanced mooring/docking/anchoring techniques,  navigation, boat systems and troubleshooting, weather, tides, dinghy towing, and much more.

Courses offered in the following formats:
(Each course provides 55 hours of instruction in a live-aboard format, aboard a Hunter 33-38ft.)
LONG WEEKEND: Friday 10:00a.m. through Sunday at 5:00p.m.
“VACATION” WEEKDAY:  Monday 10:00a.m. through Wednesday at 5:00p.m.

Given the length of the trip and the size of boat, we permit up to four students per class.
